A nice surprise this morning from facebook. A Vimeo “station” has begun, documenting the live performances of the Balloon and Needle associated musicians.
I’m already a big fan of the dotolim blog, for it’s live documentation of the same group of musicians (plus guests such as Tetuzi Akiyama), but Vimeo provides the additional alure of higher quality audio and video.
As someone who has lamented privately the woeful state of arts funding in the US, (amongst other factors that make touring here difficult for visiting musicians) it’s nice to know that even if I’ll probably never see these guys play the states, I can check in on their European tours in high quality. Or, at very least, here’s hoping.
